The Blue Ox MooseTour

With Professional Wildlife Guide Greg Friel in the Shadow of Mt. Katahdin

Dates: May 2009 (Dates to be determined)
Cost: $595.00 per person
Booking Deadline: Feb 23, 2009

Abstract: Tired of drive-by-shootings of moose on the shoulder of the road? Yearning for calendar moose images in genuine wilderness settings? Then join me as we combine our photographic skills with the backcountry savvy of professional Maine guide, Greg Friel. We’ll drive, walk, and ultimately paddle into the heart of the Maine woods to bag trophy moose with our cameras.

Between the field work, you’ll get a taste of North Woods character and hospitality, from warm muffins and cookies delivered directly to your cozy cabin in the morning to the frontier atmosphere of the Blue Ox pub. To be sure, Millinocket Maine is no Bar Harbor.

In the evening, after we’ve run out of light, we’ll take some time to examine our efforts on our laptops and I’ll demonstrate basic digital workflow techniques. And, of course, I’ll be there photographing by your side should you have questions about the field techniques pros use to capture publishable and award-winning wildlife images. In fact, you’re chances of coming home with a gallery-quality moose photo are, well, only slightly better than running into a lumberjack at the Blue Ox.
